Expertise You Can Trust
I’m Dr. Rachel Buehner, a licensed psychologist, autism specialist, and proud mother of an autistic child. My journey into founding Bring Light Evaluation Services began not in the office, but at home—when my own child was diagnosed with autism several years ago. Even with my years of clinical training and experience, that moment was overwhelming. I quickly realized that what families need most after a diagnosis isn’t just a label—they need guidance, clarity, and hope. What are the next steps? What are the most important things to consider? What should I do first?
I created Bring Light Evaluation Services as a labor of love and a response to a real gap in our community. Too often, families walk away from evaluations with more questions than answers. My mission is to change that. Here, evaluations are not just about identifying autism or ADHD—they’re about lighting up the path forward. I work hard to ensure each assessment provides families with a clear understanding of their child’s strengths and challenges, actionable next steps, and individualized resources to support meaningful progress.
In addition to my clinical work, I’ve spent years as a leader and advocate in the autism and mental health communities. I am the former President of the Kentucky Psychological Association, Vice President of the Kentucky Psychological Foundation, and serve on the Board of Directors for FEAT of Louisville -Families for Effective Autism Treatment, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of Louisville's Home of the Innocents. My work in these roles has deepened my commitment to expanding access to high-quality diagnostic services and resource identification that center the whole person and the whole family.
I know what it feels like to be on both sides of the evaluation process. At Bring Light, my goal is to meet individuals and families with compassion, offer clarity through careful assessment, and shine a light on the next steps—so no one feels they have to walk this journey alone.
